Benefits of Registration
You will be identified as a `Registered Professional Engineer of
Queensland' and you will be entitled to use or publish this title or the
abbreviation `RPEQ'.
The Board provides protection for registered professional engineers
ensuring that unqualified people cannot practise in Queensland. Your
name will be published in the Roll of Registered Professional Engineers
of Queensland. These Rolls are distributed to Local Authorities for
their
reference when considering building approvals. Government Departments
also use the Rolls for reference when engaging consultants.
You will be accredited, if applicable-
- to practise as a consulting engineer;
- to provide certificates under the Building Code of Australia as
mechanical and structural engineers;
- as an engineer under the Queensland Building Services Authority
Act
1991;
- under the Subcontractors Charges Act 1974; and
- as a professional engineer on the Register of Fire Systems
Certifiers.
