Guide to Practicing

It is a legal requirement for professional engineers to register with the Board before they can practise as a professional engineer in Queensland. That is, you must be a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). The rule applies to all persons who in their employment provide an engineering service to their employer.

The exception is for persons who practise under the supervision of RPEQs.

Companies need to ensure that persons employed as professional engineers are registered or work under the supervision of a registered professional engineer. The requirement applies regardless of whether the professional engineer in providing professional engineering services to his or her employer or to external clients.
