Continuing Professional Development
Generally, the Board has aligned its CPD policy with that of Approved
Assessment Entities (Engineers Australia - http://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/professional-development/cpd/cpd_home.cfm and
AusIMM - http://www.ausimm.com.au/Content/Default.aspx?ID=138 )
If you are following the policy guidelines of
these professional engineering organisations, you will be seen to
be fulfilling your obligations for CPD to the Board. For example,
Engineers Australia require 150 hours of CPD over three years.
CPD would be expected to include a combination of activities such
as:
-
Formal education and training (Courses/Lectures)
-
Informal learning activities (eg. Reading journals, manuals etc)
-
Conferences and meetings
-
Presentation and papers
-
Service activities (eg. CPD auditor, reviewing technical papers
etc)
-
Industry Involvement (for academics)
RPEQs will self-certify as part of the renewal of registration
process whether or not they are currently meeting this requirement.
Please see Board Policies for the Board's current policy
on Continuing Professional Development.
