NEW REGISTRATION SCHEME FROM 1 JULY 2008

In line with the co-regulatory approach taken between professional engineering bodies and the Board, a new registration scheme in which one or more professional engineering bodies can apply to the Board for approval of their assessment scheme was introduced from 1 July 2008.

Under the new scheme, professional engineering bodies can apply to the Board for approval of a scheme to assess requirements for registration in any of the approved areas of engineering.  Any professional bodies wishing to apply for approval of their assessment scheme should use the Application for Assessment Entities form available on the Board's Home Page.

The Minister for Public Works, Information and Communication Technology has appointed Engineers Australia and AusIMM as Assessment Entities.
